This exhibition, curated by Hanna Baudet and Amelie Adamo, pays tribute to the South of France and the Golden Age of painting between the late 19th and early 20th Century, a period when traveling to the Midi became a foundational ritual for painters. From Cezanne to Monet, from Renoir to Bonnard, form Matisse to Picasso, these journeys responded to a hedonistic and creative quest, nourished by the light and Mediterranean landscape
The exhibition established a fascinating dialogue between these historical masters and Contemporary artists inspired by the South or following in their footsteps, including Vicky Colombet, Carole Benzaken, Vincent Bioules, Louis Cane, Robert Combas, Christine Safa and many others
